Emily & Bryan

The Reeds at Shelter Haven Wedding

Stone Harbor, NJ

April 15, 2023

Emily and Bryan got married at The Reeds at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor, New Jersey.

Emily and Bryan first met in 2016 and have been together ever since! They quickly bonded over their mutual love for baseball. At the time, Bryan was working for the Baltimore Orioles and Emily was a busy art student creating sports art specifically inspired by the Philadelphia Phillies and other MLB teams. Bryan would travel from Maryland to New Jersey whenever he could to be with Emily. Less than 2 years later, Bryan got a job with the Toronto Blue Jays. When he was on the road with their Double A team, Emily would make the drive to meet him at the various ball parks the team was playing at. After multiple baseball seasons of a long distance relationship and traveling, Bryan got a job offer to move to Toronto for the Blue Jays. Emily applied for a work visa so she could move to Canada with him! They got a little Canadian cockapoo and named her Clover.

While living in Toronto was a great experience, after the 2019 season Bryan decided to move on from the unstable, traveling life of an MLB employee. The couple decided to set down roots in Emily’s hometown of Cherry Hill, NJ. With their puppy and passports in tow, they moved back home. Bryan began working for an engineering company and started getting his Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Emily continued to work on her art and discovered that helping animals is a passion of hers. Emily started working at an animal hospital. In 2021, the couple faced their biggest challenge yet. Bryan was diagnosed with Stage 2 Lymphoma. Emily stood by his side throughout his entire treatment and made Bryan’s health her number one priority in life. Bryan was so brave and positive the entire time. Thankfully, after about 8 months of testing, surgeries, and treatments, Bryan was declared cancer free. While he still has to see his oncologist to be checked, Bryan is doing well. Both Emily and Bryan are so thankful for everyone that helped save his life. The day Bryan finished his Chemotherapy treatment, Emily burst into tears of joy. She maintains that all the scientists, doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals that helped take care of Bryan gave her the greatest gift she has ever received by saving Bryan’s life.

In early 2022, Emily had a career change and became a full time dog groomer. The couple also bought their first home together! With Bryan feeling better and being back to work full time, he decided it was time to propose! Emily was waiting for the proposal for a long time! She is very difficult to surprise. He wanted to try to catch her off guard. On May 10th, 2022, Emily walked into the kitchen and Bryan got on one knee with a beautiful engagement ring. Even though Emily knew he was going to propose soon, she still burst into tears of joy and said “Yes!” Clover was there too and seemed very happy that her parents are getting married! Emily and Bryan are so thankful for each other and always make maintaining a healthy and positive relationship a top priority. They are looking forward to their wedding and honeymoon!
